On November 17th, Cheryl Roberts, Executive Director of the Greenburger Center moderated a conversation with three experts in compulsive sexual and paraphilic disorders: Dr. Ken Rosenberg, MD, Dr. Richard Krueger, MD and Dr. Meg Kaplan PhD.  The panelist explored issues including, what is paraphilic vs a compulsive sexual disorder? Is either disorder considered a mental illness and can people living with these conditions be treated? What happens when a person engages in criminal behavior as the result of the uncontrolled symptoms of these disorders and is chemical castration ever appropriate? Is it possible to divert from the criminal justice system someone accused of a sexual offense? And, following incarceration, can people accused of sexual offenses safely reintegrate into the community? The Greenburger Center will moderate a second convesations with these experts in Feburary 2022. Details to follow. If you would like to view the recording from Nov. 17th, please click:
