Panelists will discuss mechanisms and programs to prevent, divert and re-direct people with serious mental illness, substance use disorders and other disabilities from entering, staying in or returning to the criminal justice system.

Topics will include:

Diversion of sex offenders and people living with autism and developmental disabilities in Brooklyn;
Florida's CIT 2.0 and 3.0 programs and new multi-service diversion center;
Secure and non-secure residential diversion options being proposed in Arizona;
Why AOT must be first on the list of options to keep people out of the criminal justice system; and
Reforms necessary to make parole about promoting re-entry instead recidivism.
